My favorite quote: "Count your losses and move on."My name is Primrose and I believe that life is too short to hold on to a negative past. I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. After teaching for four years I decided to make a career move into the counseling field. I received a BA degree in English from Bethune Cookman College and a MS degree in School Counseling and Family Therapy from Stetson University. I am currently working on a doctoral degree from Argosy University. I enjoy spending time with my family and helping others. I hope to write a book in the near future, but until that time I will continue to promote the importance of reading African American literature, so that our history is not lost.
Vivian, historian-"I can do all things through Christ Jesus, which strengthens me." Vivian likes reading, dancing and outdoor sports such as, fishing, camping and boating. While completing her higher education in Office Technology, she began reading more books and reading became a hobby for her. Her first loved book is the bible.
My name is Tiffanee but my friends call me Tika. I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. I have a four-year old daughter named Alexa. I have been in the school system for five years. I taught in the beginning of those five years but have recently become a Guidance Counselor. I love kids and have always wanted to work with kids. I want to make a difference and I do that daily working in an elementary school setting. Two of my favorite pastimes are spending time with Alexa and reading. I love reading because it takes me anywhere I want to go. When I’m reading, I can imagine myself sitting on that beach in Jamaica or Hawaii or St. Thomas. Those are places that I have never been to but desire to go. My favorite book and movie of all time is The Color Purple by Alice Walker. My favorite saying is “your attitude determines your altitude. My favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Debra Todman, ESE teacher for 15 years; former Teacher of the Year for her school; member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority; involved in Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America program; member of Allen Chapel AME Church - sings in the choir; in the process of adopting a little girl.
